Fed: Abbott says state opposition will scupper health reforms

Federal Opposition Leader TONY ABBOTT says Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD'S health reform
proposals are bound to fail in their current guise .. in light of state opposition.

On the eve of tomorrow's COAG meeting in Canberra .. Mr ABBOTT's told reporters he
doesn't expect any real change to the current system.

He says he thinks the meeting will result in an agreement to talk .. not an agreement to change.

Mr ABBOTT says Mr Rudd's plan for the federal government to seize 30 per cent of GST
revenues .. in return for taking control of 60 per cent of state hospital funding .. would
create more red tape.
