Fed: Campbell hypocritical on wind farm ban - Aust Institute

The Australia Institute says federal environment policy has sunk to a new level of
absurdity with the blocking of a wind farm because of a threat to a rare parrot.

The Victorian government is seeking legal advice on whether it can overturn the federal
government's rejection of the 220 million dollar wind farm project in south Gippsland.

Federal Environment Minister IAN CAMPBELL blocked the 52 turbine Bald Hills proposal
yesterday .. citing concerns about the orange-bellied parrot's habitat.

Institute director Clive Hamilton says Senator CAMPBELL's pandering to a vocal minority
at the cost of Australia's economy and environment.
