Vic: Man arrested over fatal Melbourne stabbing
Eds: Changes circumstances of arrest on updated advice from police
MELBOURNE, Dec 5 AAP - A 21-year-old Melbourne man wanted for questioning over a fatal
stabbing last week has given himself up.
Jie Zhu of Doncaster was sought over the death of 17-year-old Yan Yu, also known as
Ricky, who was stabbed outside a 7-Eleven store in Box Hill last Thursday night.
Police had earlier speculated Mr Zhu might have been hiding with associates in Sydney.
But Mr Zhu handed himself in to police at Doncaster shortly after 10.15pm (AEDT) yesterday,
a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
He was arrested and taken to the St Kilda Road police complex, where he is being questioned
by homicide squad detectives.
Police have interviewed but not charged another two men and a woman, all in their early
20s, over the stabbing.
